Hello/Bonjour, you will, I am sure, be trembling with anticipation to learn that my samples have finally, thrillingly, arrived back from the mill. What a wonderful way to end the year. As they were definitely worth the wait. There is, always, a moment of trepidation on wrestling open the packaging and unfurling the tightly wrapped roll of fabric. Oh, what delight… for the colours are even better than I had imagined. Richer, deeper, more intense. The new upholstery fabric is perfectly, comfortably, reassuringly weighty. I am beside myself with excitement. Here are some photos. Taken in natural daylight. I am almost overcome. For I will no longer have to spend an age fiddling about in Photoshop in an attempt to get the images to look like the real thing. Or rather, Himself will no longer have to spend an age fiddling about in Photoshop to get the images to look like the real thing. Do scroll through the pictures while I collect myself…

Of course, all my achievements, mostly small and occasionally big, of this roller-coaster year would not have been possible without the help and support of Duncan, resident designer at William Clarke & Sons, my family and friends and those kind enough to take the time to comment on my work. I am hugely grateful to you all.

And heartfelt thanks to Himself… for his unstinting support and encouragement, his patience and understanding, not to mention his technological wizardry and mastery of the mysterious art of fire lighting… stoves that it. Thank you J.

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and here’s to a happily exciting 2024.

A bientôt
